VASSIE CATALANO – PRINCIPAL & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

BA-MS, Cert IV-HR, SFD, Ausdance & APRA member

Vassie discovered her passion for dance at a young age, excelling in Jazz and earning the prestigious SFD Major Jazz Scholarship in 1998. At 17, she achieved her SFD Teachers Certificate, beginning a lifelong dedication to dance education.



In 2023, Vassie was honoured with the prestigious Southern Federation of Dance Outstanding Achievement Award, acknowledging her significant contributions and dedication to the dance community.

Industry Experience:
Vassie has worked at top Melbourne dance schools, appeared in TV commercials, programs, film clips, and print magazines, and toured nationally as a dancer and choreographer for Loreal hair shows.

Business Expertise:
With a Bachelor of Media Studies and Cert IV in Human Resources, Vassie spent over a decade in HR and management roles at Telstra’s Sensis. In 2001, she combined her business and dance expertise to launch Studio V.

For 25 years, Studio V has offered professional dance education, nurturing talent across all styles. Vassie has collaborated with industry professionals and guided many students into professional dance careers.

Milestones:
In 2019, Studio V celebrated 20 years by taking 50 students to perform at Disneyland and Universal Studios in Los Angeles, with classes at top LA dance studios. This unforgettable experience was repeated in 2024, reflecting Studio V’s commitment to creating exceptional opportunities for its students.

Studio V continues to inspire the next generation of performers and share the magic of dance.
